“가야 할 목적지와 목표가 있는 사람은 참으로 행복한 사람이다”
A person who has a destination and a goal to go to is a very happy person.
본문 12절
“내가 이미 얻었다 함도 아니요 온전히 이루었다 함도 아니라 오직 내가 그리스도 예수께 잡힌바 된 그것을 잡으려고 달려가노라”
“그것을 잡으려고 달려가노라”
Run for it.
“내가 이미 얻었다 함도 아니요 온전히 이루었다 함도 아니다.”
It’s not like Ialready got it. It’s not like I got it.
‘다 되었다는 완성자라고 생각지 않는다’
I don’t think I’m done.
1. 지난 과거의 것을 생각지 말아야 한다.
(Don’t think about the past.)
‘뒤엣 것을 생각지 말라’ Don’t think about what’s behind you.
=>과거의 자리에서 머물러 있지 말라는 것
Don’t stay where you were in the past.
“목표를 정한 인생은 과거를 과감히 버릴 줄 알아야 한다.”
A life with a set goal must be able to boldly abandon the past.

본문 13절
“형제들아 나는 아직 내가 잡은 줄로 여기지 아니하고 오직 한 일 즉 뒤에 있는 것은 잊어버리고 앞에 있는 것을 잡으려고”
“우리가 믿고 있는 기독교는 미래 지향적이다.”
Christanity, which we believe in, is forward-looking.
2. 확실한 푯대를 세워야 한다.
(We need to set a clear atandard.)
“누가 똑바로 눈 위를 걸어 갈 수 있을까?”
Who can walk straight over the snow?
“인생에 있어서도 뚜렷한 푯대를 바라보고 나가야 한다”
In life, we must look at a clear standard.
본문 14절, “푯대를 향하여 그리스도 예수 안에서…”
Toward the signpost, in Christ Jesus...
“목표를 정하되 그리스도 예수 안에서 정해야 함”
You have to set a goal, but you have to set it within Christ Jesus.

Only the beast that was initially aimed to follow through and catch it.
3. 부르심의 상을 생각하며 꾸준히 달려가야 한다.
(We must keep running thinking about the reward of calling.)
본문 14절
“… 하나님이 위에서 부르신 부름의 상을 위하여 달려가노라”
Run for the reward of God’s calling from above.
12절, “… 그것을 잡으려고 달려가노라”
... Run for it.
“성공적인 인생을 살려면 반드시 용기가 필요하다.”
You must have courage to live a successful life.
“어떠한 난관이나 역경과 고난에 처할지라도 늠름한 태도를 지니는 것”
No matter what difficulties, adversites, or sufferings you face, you have a dignified attitude.

4. 목표 있는 인생은 정도를 걸어가야 한다.
(A life with a goal should be a step forward.)
본문 16절
“오직 우리가 어디까지 이르렀든지 그대로 행할 것이라”
We’l only do what we’ve come to.
“목표를 세우되 그 목표가 정의로운지는 매우 중요하다.”
Set a goal, but it is very important that the goal is just.
“정직하고 성실한 마음으로 인생의 정도를 걸어가라”
Walk the course of your life with an honest and sincere heart.
“악한 자의 길은 반드시 망하고 만다.”
The evil man’s path is doomed.
“인생을 오래 사는 것이 중요한 것이 아니고, 옳고 바르게 사는 것이 중요하다.”
It’s not about living a long life, it’s about living right and right.
