“자연계의 모든 생물들은 천적관계 때문에 생태계의 균형을 이룬다”
All living things in nature balance their ecosystems because of their natural enemies.
“사람에게도 동물의 세계와는 다르지만 나름대로의 천적이 있다.”
Humans are different from the animal world, but they have their own natural enemies.
“이스라엘에게 천적과 같은 민족은 블레셋이다”
For Israel, the same people as the natural enemies are the Philistines.
1. 선악을 분별하는 기준으로 두신 것이다.
(They set it as a standard for distinguishing between good N bad.)
본문 3절
“이방 신들과 아스다롯을 너희 중에서 제거하고”
“하나님께서 가장 싫어하시는 것은 우상을 섬기고, 우상에게 절하는 것”
The last thing God hates is serving idols and bowing to them.
“하나님은 사랑이시고, 의로우신 분이다.”
God is love and righteous.
“예수님을 괴롭히는 사람들은 대제사장과 바리새인, 서기관들이다.”
The people who tormented Jesus were the high priest and the Pharisees.
“우리를 괴롭히는 모든 것들이 나의 진실과 의로움, 사랑을 더 아름답게 해주는 역할을 한다”
Everything that bothers us plays a role in making my truth, righteousness, and love more beautiful.
2. 우리를 훈련 시키기 위해서이다.
(It’s to train us.)
“강하기 위해서는 훈련을 거쳐야 하는데, 그 도구가 이방 국가들이었다”
To be strong, you have to go through training, and the tools are foreign countries.
“가시 같은 존재가 나를 연단시키고, 훈련시키는 도구가 된 것”
Being like a thorn has become a tool for me to train and to stand on the platform.
3. 우리가 정신을 차리고 살게 하기 위해서다.
(It’s for us to come to our senses and live.)
“사람은 위협적인 존재가 있을 때 긴장한다.”
People are nervous when there is a threat.

A herring and a baby shark.
“블레셋과 같은 존재가 있음으로 우리는 정신 차리게 돤다.”
Being like the Philistines, we come to our senses.
“고난과 고통을 주는 요인들이 우리를 깨우고 하나님을 더 의뢰하게 하는 요인이 된다”
The factors that cause hardship and suffering are the factors that wake us up and make us ask for more God.
4. 우리들로 은혜를 알게 하기 위해서다.
(It’s for us to know the grace.)
고후 12:10절
“그러므로 내가 그리스도를 위하여 약한 것들과 능욕과 궁핍과 박해와 곤고를 기뻐하노니 이는 내가 약한 그 때에 강함이라”
“가시같은 존재가 우리로 은혜 안에 살게 하고, 오히려 우리를 더 강하게 한다”
A thorny existence makes us live in grace, but rather makes us stronger.
5. 이 가시같은 존재가 징계와 심판의 도구로 쓰실 때도 있다.

“나는 그에게 아버지가 되고 그는 내게 아들이 되리니 그가 만일 죄를 범하면 내가 사람의 매와 인생의 채찍으로 징계하려니와”
“사람을 심판의 막대기와 채찍으로 사용하신다”
Use a man as a stick and whip for a referee.
렘 21:7절
“여호와의 말씀이니라 그 후에 내가 유다의 왕 시드기야와 그의 신하들과 백성과 및 이 성읍에서 전염병과 칼과 기근에서 남은 자를 바벨론의 느부갓네살 왕의 손과 그들의 원수의 손과 그들의 생명을 찾는 자들의 손에 넘기리니 그가 칼날로 그들을 치되 측은히 여기지 아니하며 긍휼히 여기지 아니하며 불쌍히 여기지 아니하리라 하셨느니라”
“하나님 앞에 합당치 못한 삶을 살 때 징계의 도구와 막대기와 채찍이 된다”
When you live an unjust life before God, you become a disciplinary tool, a stick, and a whip.
“팔레스타인과 이스라엘의 유혈사태가 계속 되고”
The Palestinian and Israeli bloodshed continues.
“블레셋을 두려워하지 않고 하나님을 의뢰하겠다는 의지”
It is the will to request God without fear of the Philistines.
(본문 8절)
“이스라엘 자손이 사무엘에게 이르되 당신은 우리를 위하여 우리 하나님 여호와께 쉬지 말고 부르짖어 우리를 블레셋 사람들의 손에서 구원하시게 하소서 하니”
“기도할 때 은혜를 깨닫고 이길 수 있는 지혜와 힘을 얻게 될 것이다.”
When you pray, you will realize your grace and gain wisdom and strength to win.
“하나님을 바라보는 크기가 여러분의 인생의 크기다.”
The size of looking at God is the size of your life.
